SL vs PAK – Sri Lanka has announced its squad for the practice match against Pakistan in preparation for the upcoming series. The practice match will take place on July 11, 2023, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, commencing at 10:00 AM.

Following the practice match, Sri Lanka will engage in a two-match Test series against Pakistan. The first Test is scheduled from July 16 to July 20, 2023, while the second Test will be held from July 24 to July 28, 2023.

In 2023, Sri Lanka and Pakistan cricket teams will confront each other in the two-match Test series. The matches are set to be played at the Galle International Stadium in Galle and the P Sara Oval in Colombo.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan have developed a strong rivalry, showcasing impressive cricket performances over time. They have faced each other in 49 Test matches, with Pakistan emerging victorious in 23 encounters, Sri Lanka winning 19 matches, and seven matches ending in a draw.

Both teams are entering the series with good form. Sri Lanka recently secured a 2-0 Test series win against Ireland, while Pakistan triumphed with a 1-0 Test series victory over Australia.

The Pakistan Skipper, Babar Azam, is widely regarded as one of the world’s best batsmen and will strive to lead his team to success. Among active players, he holds the record for the highest number of runs scored by a Pakistani in Test cricket, accumulating 3,696 runs at an average of 48.63.

In the ICC Test rankings, Sri Lanka currently holds the 7th position, while Pakistan sits in the 6th position. The Test series will be conducted as part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle, providing both teams with an opportunity to earn valuable points for the championship.

The first Test match is scheduled to take place at the Galle International Stadium from July 16 to July 20, 2023. This venue holds a rich tradition of hosting Test cricket and is expected to offer a spin-friendly pitch. The second Test will be held at the P Sara Oval in Colombo from July 24 to July 28, 2023.
