WHO WE ARE

Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through B2B solutions as well as Publicly Funded Research Projects. We work across several domains including automotive, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and many more, and transform businesses as an external machine learning department using our core expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.

Our current projects include developing logistics solutions for retailers, quality assurance tools for manufacturing, machine-learning systems for visual quality control, NLP solutions, e.g. text classification and NER, for the legal and financial domain, and others.

OUR TEAM is made up of entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers from premier universities around the world. Many of us have PhDs and work experience at top tech companies. We’re based in Europe’s startup capital, Berlin, and are growing quickly!

THE ROLE

The Mission of this role is to assist the CEO in their day-to-day by helping to manage, streamline, and coordinate their schedule, communications, and engagements. In addition to working closely with the CEO, you will also be able to collaborate with fantastic team mates in the Operations department and Leadership team. We would like to begin this role at part time (20 hours / week), but this may evolve over time.

These will be your main responsibilities:

Act as the CEO’s go-to person for organizational assistance, thinking critically and moving quickly to present solutions as challenges arise
Manage the CEO’s calendar, ensuring engagements, tasks, activities and other commitments are up-to-date, well-balanced, and effectively prioritized (our CEO Nicole is very busy!)
Communicate on the CEO’s behalf, being able to answer questions, relay key information, and interface effectively with diverse stakeholders in both English and German across multiple communication channels; email, Slack, phone, messaging apps, etc
Assist the CEO with admin and operational tasks including but not limited to; coordinating travel and accommodation, tracking expenses, handling paperwork, event registration, etc
Collaborate with relevant team members and stakeholders both at Merantix Momentum, as well as among the teams of the other organizations the CEO is involved with
Organize and streamline workflows, information flows, tasks, and activities to simplify the CEO’s day-to-day, empowering them to save time and balance work-life commitments
Help the CEO ad-hoc with relevant tasks as they arise

They will bring excellent skills in order to manage complexity, streamline workflows, reduce administrative and operational burden for the CEO. We are looking for driven, capable, and prudent talents with proven track records of personal, academic, and professional achievement. Our hierarchy is flat and communication direct, which means that we operate and learn fast, as a team.

Must haves
Comfortable working transversally to assist the CEO across varied professional and personal tasks
Proven track record of organizational excellence in dynamic, fast-moving environments
Proven track record of success in a virtual assistant (or similar) role
Highly competent organizational abilities and familiarity with time and task management tools
Fluent in English and German
Ability to work during CET business hours

Good to haves
Committed to developing a positive, long-term working relationship with Merantix Momentum and the CEO
Experience in the entrepreneurial space
Expertise at automating administrative and organizational workflows across tools / platforms
Expertise with Google Suite, Slack, Microsoft Office and other common business software

Hourly Range: $10.00-$40.00
