Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled WordPress Specialist to join our web development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing WordPress websites, ensuring they meet our company’s needs and exceed our clients' expectations. This role requires a deep understanding of WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development, site optimization, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement WordPress websites from initial concept, site architecture, and user interface to finished deliverable.
Customize WordPress themes and plugins to fulfill specific requirements.
Ensure website performance and reliability, including speed optimization, security measures, and regular updates.
Conduct website performance tests, troubleshoot any issues, and update website features or security patches.
Collaborate with content and design teams to ensure the site meets branding and customer service standards.
Provide technical support for clients with existing WordPress sites.
Stay up-to-date with new web technologies and digital marketing trends, applying them to future projects and existing infrastructure when appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a WordPress Developer or similar role.
Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Experience designing and developing responsive design websites.
Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git).
Experience with WordPress multisite is preferable.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress website development.
Portfolio of completed WordPress projects.

Portfolio Review: Candidates must submit a portfolio of their work, showcasing custom WordPress themes and plugins they have developed.
Technical Challenges: Be prepared to discuss specific challenges faced during WordPress development projects and how they were overcome.
