Grant Writer for Black Female Farmers/Ranchers and Equine-Assisted Therapy for Vets with PTSD – Graphic Designer

Purple Ponies Equine Therapy (PPET) is a registered 501(c)3 founded, and led by a black female veteran. We are currently looking for a highly skilled and dedicated grant writer to help expand our small organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by securing funding for two crucial projects that aim to support and empower marginalized communities in Georgia.

The first project focuses on providing much-needed assistance to black female farmers and ranchers who are passionate about purchasing land and starting their own farm. By offering financial support and resources, we aim to address the systemic barriers that these individuals face in accessing capital and resources, as well as providing fresh food for the food deserts that abound. As a grant writer, you will play a crucial role in developing compelling proposals that highlight the importance of supporting these talented individuals and their aspirations.

The second project centers around providing equine-assisted psychotherapy for veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As we are led by an Air Force veteran of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, we honor the immense sacrifices made by our veterans and understand the mental health challenges they often endure. Through equine-assisted psychotherapy, we offer a unique and effective approach to help them heal and reintegrate into society. As a grant writer, you will be responsible for crafting persuasive narratives that highlight the significance of this therapy and its potential to transform the lives of our beloved veterans.

As we are a very small organization, we need your help to 1) conduct thorough research to identify suitable grant opportunities that align with our project goals and 2) write compelling and persuasive grants that effectively convey the goals and impact of our projects and secure the necessary funding.

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong background in grant writing, research, and proposal writing. Your attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that all proposals are tailored to meet the specific requirements of each funding opportunity, are error-free, and meet the highest standards of quality.

This position provides an opportunity to work closely with a small but passionate team. The duration of this role will be approximately 1 to 3 months, initially; during which you will have the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of the individuals we seek to support. Our loyalty is fierce; so, we stick with quality people forever. While we know the initial budget seems low, we hope you will find us so much money that you can simply write your salary into each grant you procure.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with intermediate expertise in grant writing. Your prior experience in successfully securing funding for similar projects will be highly valued. However, we also encourage individuals with a strong passion for social justice and a desire to make a positive impact to apply.

If you are a talented grant writer who is dedicated to creating meaningful change and empowering marginalized communities, we invite you to join our team. Together, we can make a lasting impact and create a more equitable and inclusive society.
